lol yeah tbh i couldnt see why they couldnt have left a copy on the old server until the new database was setup, theyd be missing a few hours of posts when they were moved across totally but itd mean no downtime.

As far as I am aware they aren't changing servers. Rather just archiving the existing one. So the forums would need to be taken down otherwise you would keep getting "files in use" errors.
